On September 12, 1929, these 20 women formed a charity organization called the Junior Charities. In an effort to be of service to the Greenville community, the group took on projects that ranged from running a baby diet kitchen and thrift shop to spending time at the local orphanage, hospital and library. Eighty years later, the organization now know as the Junior League of Greenville still thrives with a membership of more than 1,400 women who volunteer their time in an effort to continue the tradition of making our community a better place to live. Happy 80th Anniversary, Junior League, and here's to 80 more!
