The whole idea of recycling is becoming a part of our daily lives, a positive result of the determined efforts of some really smart people with an eye toward the future. Now that we've got that part of environmentally friendly thinking established, a few suggestions on additional habits we could adopt seems like a good idea. Our contributors are nothing if not forward thinking, so we asked them to tell us — “What's your favorite recycling habit?”

“I save empty egg cartons and give them away to my friends who raise chickens — hopefully they will return them to me full of wonderful eggs.”
Janet Poleski, Food Contributor
“Just remember to always bring your bags to the store by keeping them in your car at all times. As soon as I unload, I put them back in.”

“How hard is it to rinse some cans and put them in a separate box?”
Kondria Woods, Contributing Writer
“Bring your own bags on every outing to any store.”

“Let my fingers do the walking and make a few calls first to track things down rather than drive from place to place.
