The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts Foundation honored four supporters at its fourth annual Leadership Tribute. The Leadership Tribute was established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to the arts in South Carolina through their longstanding support of the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. The evening began with the presentation of the J. Verne Smith Leadership Award on the residential campus of the school. This ceremony included several outstanding student performances. School Board Chair Bob Hughes was the master of ceremonies for the event.

The recipients this year were Joan S. Coker, R. Glenn Hilliard, Elizabeth P. Stall and former ambassador David H. Wilkins. In addition to the Leadership Award, the first Alumni Recognition Award was presented to Caleb Jones, a 2003 graduate. The celebration continued with a beautiful reception at High Cotton following the ceremony. It was a beautiful evening celebrating some very special supporters.
