The Carolina Ballet Theatre added a new twist to its annual “Emerald Evening” this year. They hosted their own version of “Dancing with the Stars,” pairing local celebrities and business leaders with dancers from the Carolina Ballet Theatre. The result was a fantastic evening of music, dance and great food.

The event had a Great Gatsby, Roaring ’20s theme, and many of the guests wore their flapper finest. The highlight of the evening was the competition. CBT dancers were paired with Rick Erwin (owner of Rick Erwin’s West End Grill); Bob Howard (Greenville Tech Foundation); Paul Savas (executive director of the Warehouse Theatre); Jacob Mann (Realtor); Kimberly Kelly (host, WSPA 7); Myra Ruiz (reporter, WYFF 4); Amy Ryberg Doyle (Greenville City Council); and Tajh Boyd (Clemson football player). Judges Marsha White, Kim Hassold and Alan Ethridge all chimed in on the judging, but the final winner was Bob Howard. It was a great evening and I was dancing all the way home.
