This year the Greenville Chorale proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary as a landmark Greenville chorus. The photo seen here was taken in 1967 of 63 members of the Greenville Civic Chorale with founding conductor William Jarvis at the baton. Chorale veteran Henry Gibson appears in the photo and is still singing in the group today. The Chorale plans to begin its golden anniversary celebration on Oct. 23 with the inaugural concert work performed in November 1961, Brahms’ “Requiem.” For tickets, please call the Peace Center box office at 467-3000.
